To quote Longfellow, “there’s nothing in the world so sweet as love. And next to love, the sweetest thing is hate.”
So, according to Wadsworth’s reasoning, hate should be next to love on the color spectrum, which would make the color of hate pink.
I think that would seem appropriate to a number of people.
